For patients
We think it is important that you are well informed and come to your appointment feeling at ease. That is why we are happy to explain what you can expect, how we work, and answer frequently asked questions.
New patients
New patients are very welcome at Dentaline. We are happy to take the time to get to know you, map out your oral health and work together towards healthy, shining teeth.
First visit
During your first appointment we get to know you and discuss your wishes, any complaints and your medical background. We carry out an oral examination and, if necessary, take X-rays to get a complete picture of your teeth.
After the intake you will receive a clear explanation of our findings and, if treatment is needed, a personal treatment plan with an overview of the process and the expected costs. That way you know exactly where you stand beforehand.
Fees
The fees for dental treatments are set annually by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Dentaline applies these national rates, so you are assured of transparent and fair care.
Insurance coverage
Whether a treatment is reimbursed depends on your health insurance and any supplementary dental insurance. We advise you to check your policy conditions in advance or contact your health insurer.
Payment
Invoicing for our treatments is handled by Infomedics. You will receive the invoice directly from Infomedics, where you can easily pay it or, if possible, request a payment plan.
Cancelling appointments
Unable to attend? Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. That way we can offer the reserved time to another patient. Charges may apply for appointments that are not cancelled or cancelled too late.

Visiting a dentist in the Netherlands
Our dental practice in Maastricht regularly welcomes patients from Belgium. Thanks to our location near the border and clear communication, many Belgian patients deliberately choose care in the Netherlands.
Can I be treated in the Netherlands as a Belgian patient?
Yes. Within the European Union you have free choice of care provider. You can visit a dentist in the Netherlands for regular dental care without prior authorisation or a referral.
How does reimbursement work?
- You pay for the treatment yourself at our practice.
- You receive a clear, itemised invoice.
- You submit this invoice to your Belgian mutualiteit (health fund) yourself.
Reimbursement is made according to Belgian rates. This means the refund is often partial and a personal contribution is normal. Supplementary insurance may sometimes cover more.
Invoice information
Our invoices contain all the details required for submission to your health fund:
- Practice details
- Date and treatments performed
- Dutch treatment codes
- Cost per procedure
Transparency in advance
For larger treatments we discuss the treatment plan and the costs with you in advance, so you know exactly where you stand.
